Shortlisted for the 2025 SA Literary Fellowship Emerging Category

I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve been shortlisted for the 2025 SA Literary Fellowship in the Emerging Category!

About the SA Literary Fellowship

The SA Literary Fellowship, now in its second year, is a collaborative initiative between Writers SA and the State Library of South Australia. Designed to support emerging, mid-career, and First Nations writers, this fellowship program offers a unique opportunity to enrich South Australia’s literary landscape.

Each year, five annual fellowships are awarded, providing winners with a cash prize, up to three months of residency at the State Library, access to a dedicated workspace, and invaluable access to the library’s collections and archives.

Honored to Be Shortlisted Among Talented Writers

Being shortlisted among six entrants in the Emerging Category is both humbling and exhilarating. To have my work considered alongside other talented writers is something I never anticipated, and it’s an experience I’m truly grateful for. The winners will be announced on November 7th, when two recipients from each category will be awarded the fellowship. Whether or not I’m chosen, I’m chuffed to have been recognized as a finalist.

How the Fellowship Program Inspires South Australian Writers

This fellowship program is unique in its encouragement of creative use of the library’s resources. Having access to the State Library’s extensive collections and archives allows writers to delve deep into their research, and the creative atmosphere of the library itself serves as an inspiring setting to nurture new ideas and explore fresh perspectives.

I look forward to continuing my journey, and I’ll keep you updated on this exciting chapter. Thank you to everyone who has supported me—I’m so glad to share this moment with you all!
